Corporate Private and Public IP Networks through VSAT

In telemedicine video can be sent to multiple sites for review and analysis, or training delivered with audio to all sites. IP Based Networks

As packet based data /voice usage becomes more prevalent in the industry for its overall cost-effectiveness and ease of management, the network infrastructure should be able to recognize, prioritize, and provide a mechanism to effectively handle jitter and latency characteristics demanded by the application. The iDirect solution is the first TDMA solution that handles Voice effectively. The technology handles jitter characteristics, delay characteristics, QoS requirements such as interleaving, and network level prioritization. Our solution allows the deployment of Voice over a TDMA system instead of using SCPC based networks, which reduces cost and at the same time allows other applications to share the same infrastructure.

QoS can be assigned by traffic type, origination and destination, and can also be assigned a percentage of the bandwidth. In addition, available CIR (Committed Information Rate) capability allows the customer to plan the needed bandwidth in advance to make sure that all of the VoIP calls are of the highest quality.

Military Applications

The military has the most stringent requirements for network infrastructure given the sensitivity and life threatening situations that may be present. To support military requirements a network must be able to provide a secure, highly available, mobile, and manageable solution. The iDirect remote modem solution provides an integrated architecture that is portable and easy to handle. In addition it has built-in AES encryption, FIPS 140-2 certification, is TRANSEC compliant, support for mobile applications, protocol optimization over satellite, scalability, and reliability. The iDirect system can scale up to 6.9 Mbps on the inbound as the demand increases, without the operator having to replace the existing hardware.

Hotel & Hospitality Industry

As the demand for internet connectivity increases more hotel and hospitality organizations are looking at providing cost effective solutions to support this demand. A typical application in this type of industry requires primarily internet connectivity with VPN support. In some instances VoIP is required to provide backup voice services to the regular land-line based voice. Even though this type of network can be heavily oversubscribed as bandwidth requests are very bursty and required very infrequently, once a user gets online he wants the connectivity to be available and fast.
